{"id":5890,"date":"2023-04-25T18:13:28","date_gmt":"2023-04-25T15:13:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/?p=5890"},"modified":"2023-04-28T15:58:19","modified_gmt":"2023-04-28T12:58:19","slug":"new-photography-exhibition-life-in-inns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/en\/new-photography-exhibition-life-in-inns\/","title":{"rendered":"New Photography Exhibition  Life in Inns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Istanbul\u2019s inns, locally known as caravanserais, are important elements of Istanbul\u2019s historical and cultural heritage, having been used as centers of local and international trade during the Ottoman Empire period.<\/p>\n<p>They were built as multi-storey buildings and as such also served centers of craftsmanship and social life where a combination of people from diversified backgrounds and religions lived together respecting each other\u2019s values.<\/p>\n<p>Documentary photography helps us display and present social and environmental issues as well as diminishing values and businesses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5874\" src=\"https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/pelingenc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Pelin_169-2048x1151.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hanlarda Ya\u015fam (Life in Inns) project was inspired by this. A collective of 22 photographers carried out the project for a period of approximately one year, photographing the craftsmen and workers in Istanbul\u2019s historical inns. A selection of these photos are currently being exhibited, and also published as a book.
